Buteyko Breath method
The Buteyko Method is a breathing technique designed to improve functional breathing patterns, health and wellbeing by altering the way you breathe.
By practicing breathing exercises from the Buteyko Method you can experience more open airways and improved blood circulation in a matter of minutes. There is a growing body of evidence that supports its use in conditions including:
- Asthma
- Sleep Apnoea
- Insomnia
- High Blood Pressure
- Anxiety
- Crooked teeth
- Performance Efficiency / Enhancement
Interestingly one of the main concepts is breathing through your nose, particularly whilst we sleep. Nose breathing has a plethora of health benefits.
Mouth tape is a safe and effective tool that has been developed to aid in relearning how to nose breathe and is available in 3 sizes from the clinic (child size, medium and large mouth size).
How we breathe is equally important – a general concept taught in Buteyko is learning to breath Light, Deep, Low and Slow.
Buteyko can be taught 1:1 or within Group Classes. Usually 6 group classes over approximately 3 – 4 weeks is the timeframe used to learn these simple and effective methods.
Please get in touch if you would like to join in on the next group of sessions or to organise your own private sessions.
