ABOUT ANNA
Hello and welcome- I am ‘Anna B’, aka Anna Bruton and I look forward to being able to hear your story and your ‘why’. Here is mine.
I have always been passionate about exercise, food and health. I started out in Asian Studies at university but couldn’t stop massaging people so I pivoted for a career change into a dual degree in Physiotherapy and Exercise Science. I graduated from Griffith University (Gold Coast) in 2005.
From there I lived and worked in Sunshine Coast, England, Greece and Central QLD (Emerald) before making the move to the Victorian / NSW border towns of Mulwala /Yarrawonga. I has always enjoyed a mix of musculoskeletal physio and women’s health issues.
After having babies and a few pelvic floor issues as a consequence of Crohn’s Disease surgeries, I have really focussed my energy and passion on all facets of pelvic health. I love to explore the connection between hip, the pelvis and /or the pelvic floor, and but even moreso, I love looking at the whole body and how everything is interconnected when it comes to injury, pain, or movement challenges.
When I see someone I like to know they are listening and that they care.
I stand by the value that hands on (manual) therapy has in facilitating someone improving their pain and function. I have also learnt over the years that by giving someone time to listen to their story of the what, whys and how’s can be an essential part in finding the way forward to create change. So you will find my appointments enable the time and space to do so.
I have a thirst for knowledge and am consistently learning and growing as a practitioner- upskilling with a variety of courses and attending regular research updates to ensure my practice is both clinical experience and evidence based.
On weekends you’ll find my family and I heading for the hills for mountain biking. I am keen to help other people be well enough for their own adventures- however big or seemingly small- it is therapy for both the mind and body!
